Green tea is one of the most precious gifts of the herbal products and the researchers who research on these products. Green tea is known to have a large number of cures. One of the reasons of the popularity of the green tea is its ability to control the metabolism of the body and to cure the problem of thyroid. Thyroid is a gland that is known to secrete the hormones that are used by the body. The presence of the hormones generated by thyroid controls the over all activity of the body. Thus the lack of it can lead to obesity and over weight. Green tea thus allows you to lose weight naturally; moreover there are no side effects of it.

Those who are a regular consumer of the Green tea might like to know how this herbal product should be stored. It is quite strange to know that even thought the green tea has so many medicinal qualities it still can remain fresh for a longer duration as compared to the normal tea. The taste of the leaves of the green tea remains intact even after large durations. It is advisable to store the leaves of the green tea in either aluminium or a tin can. The can which is used to carry the green tea should always be placed in a place which is cool and free from moisture. You should keep it away from the places which may receive direct heat radiations, such as in open sun or near the gas stove or the micro oven. The exposure of the green tea to heat may lead to a change in its structure and hence would affect its taste.

If the tea leaves are exposed to heat they absorb more moisture and may get spoilt. However if placed in a cold environment, it would absorb less moisture and stay fresh for a longer duration. If placed in a wet place it would directly absorb the moisture and may allow the fungal growth. Hence it should always be stored in a cold and a moisture free place. One should however never place the tea leaves inside the refrigerator. Tea leaves get affected by other fragrances and very easily catches the other fragrances.
